Godnatt (Goodnight), is a rocky islet with a fortress tower all over it. The fortress tower was built during the 1850's as one of six planned towers in a defence line. It was supposed to defend the entrance to the naval base in Karlskrona, but before more than one of the towers was ready and another one was only begun the weapons technique had evolved and made these towers old fashioned.
In the end of the 18th century the tower was only used as a lighthouse, which it is still used as. Earlier the lighthouse-keeper and his family lived on Godnatt.
