Järnavik is an old harbour used since medieval times. Even Dutch and German ships sailed to this harbour. This was also a place for a shipyard and a shipping company from 1870-1920.
It is, and has been, a popular place to spend summer holidays, and many famous persons have had or still have a holiday house here.
It is a nature reserve and from here you can take the ferry to the hostel on the beautiful island Tjärö.
