The peninsula Gö has a varying flora and impressing oak slopes. There is a grave field from the Viking age and the estate Göholm. Today the estate is administered by Skogssällskapet (Forest Society). The most famous previous owner was admiral Johan Puke, known as a war hero from the war between Sweden and Russia 1788-90. He built the manor house in 1799 and he is buried in a mausoleum on the estate in a coffin made of wood from his ship Dristigheten.
