The Figeholm Maritime Museum is housed in a two storey warehouse from the early 19th century. It is beautifully situated at the mouth of the river Norrån. It is centrally situated by the guest harbour and the road that leads through Figeholm.
Sailing in the years 1850 - 1950, harbour activities, the culture of the archipelago and local boatbuilding are the cornerstones of the exhibit. It also shows the development of a small coastal community from wharf to free township. On the ground floor of the harbour warehouse, traditional, local boats are displayed along with inboard- and outboard motors. In a separate, open museum building a longboat is displayed, complete with illustrations and interesting documentary texts about the open boats of the archipelago.
