Bläsinge harbour in the middle of eastern Öland was once one of Öland's largest fishing harbours. Even though fishing has decreased, Bläsinge is still a living harbour with active fishing. Coastal fishing vessels are moored along the quays and, in the summer, fresh and smoked fish can be bought here. A couple of the small sheds have now been turned inte a Fishing- and harbour museum. Right next to the harbour is also a memorial over those who died when the ship Ada Gorthon was torpedoed by a Soviet submarine during the Second World War.
