Påskallavik is a former market town with a preserved harbour warehouse and inn from the 19th century. The quays and the dock shed are from the 20th century and have been used when shipping from the nearby Emsfors paper mill. The director of the mill also had the impressive manor, located just above the harbour, built. On an island just off the harbour is a wooden sculpture, "Röde Gubben" (the Red Man), that is reminiscent of a Russian figurehead that once ran ashore here. The Red Man is sculpted by the artist Arvid Källström from Påskallavik.
